Musician Biographies:
Steve Weingart ~ Pianist, Keyboardist, Composer
Steve Weingart began his professional music career in Cincinnati, Ohio. He went there to go to college, but began playing so much he couldn't keep the 'double life' of a student and gigging musician. He gave up school and built up a career working in many different musical situations until he moved to Los Angeles in 1994.
There he began meeting musicians and getting into the music scene. One of his key experiences was with the Marco Mendoza Trio. (Marco-bass & vocals, Joey Heredia-drums) he met a lot of musicians who came to see the trio. As a result, he went on to work in many other bands which include the “Dave Weckl Band, and Steve Lukather's “El Grupo”. In the midst of all of this work, Steve began to feel the desire to “do my own thing”, so in the early part of 2003 he released his first solo CD called “Life Times Vol. 1”. He continued to write music for, and tour with other bands. He also worked toward his next solo endeavor, “Dark Blue Dream”, which was released in October 2006. This release features Frank Gambale-guitar, Jimmy Earl-bass, and Tom Brechtlein-drums. There are guest appearances by Ernie Watts-saxophone, Ronnie Gutierrez-percussion and his wife, Renee Jones-bass and vocals. Steve is a rare and amazing talent.
Mark Maxwell
Saxophonist, Flautist, Composer Far under the radar of the mainstream entertainment media (and lo ving every minute of it) is one of the world’s best-selling saxophonists that you may never have heard of: Mark Maxwell. We say best-selling because his 18 self-produced and self-promoted CDs have sold well over half a million copies. Born into a family of sax players – his mother and sister played sax, and his brother is a professional saxophonist – Maxwell has always been surrounded by music and musical instruments. Versatility seems to be a keyword in the musical life of Mark Maxwell, a multi-instrumentalist whose CD catalog covers a variety of styles, and whose playing style has been likened to saxophonists as widely varied as Paul Desmond and Grover Washington, Jr., and as distinctively different as Stan Getz and Boney James. As not only a musician, but also as an entrepreneur, Maxwell covers a lot of ground.
